Samantha Cameron is expecting a baby, due in September, the Conservative Party announced

David Cameron's wife Samantha is expecting a baby, due in September, the Conservative Party announced today.

If Cameron becomes prime minister, who will be third in line to live in Downing Street with young children.

Tony Blair was the first president in 150 years to father a child while in the office when Leo Blair was born in 2000. Gordon Brown has two young children.

The Cameron said they were "completely thrilled" by the pregnancy of Ms. Cameron.

The Tory leader recently stated in interviews - including a recent TV quiz show Alan Titchmarsh at a time that should have known about the pregnancy of his wife - he would be happy to have another child.

A Conservative spokesman said: "The baby is due in September and David and Samantha are totally thrilled."

In response to a question about the population growth of an audience member at the Woodstock Literary Festival September, Cameron said: "I do not think that Britain is overcrowded. I have no plans to reduce it.

"I totally would add that, personally, quite possibly, first, sometime in the future."

Touring a maternity unit in West Yorkshire, in December found a nine-hour baby and told reporters: "I feel like another."

Ms. Cameron has given a higher profile role, recently, the Conservative leader has described as the weapon of their "secret" in the election campaign.

She made her TV debut last Sunday as part of an ITV program of her husband, Trevor McDonald meets with David Cameron.

Conservative leader and his wife have two children, Nancy, six, and Arthur elwen four. His son Ivan, who had cerebral palsy and epilepsy, died in 2009.

Gordon and Sarah Brown were "very satisfied" to hear the news of pregnancy, Mrs. Cameron, Downing Street.

"They're sending a message of good wishes for them," said the prime minister's spokesman said.
