A lot of us (myself included) made a big stink shorter Spike Jonze, I'm here after it premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. In fact it is probably one of the best films I saw at the festival - so full of originality and mysterious kind of mythology that have sci-fi geeks who want to spend more time in the world he created. It is also a brilliant take on an abusive relationship, the kind where a person is allowing the other to self-destruct before your eyes. It is disturbing, beautiful, whimsical and overwhelmingly heartbreaking all at once, and after a couple of months under lock and key, the short has finally arrived online.

Currently, you can see it in two places: Over at the official site is that you can see, but only in blocks at a time. For example, this morning I clicked next and the projection was one hour and fifteen minutes later. Another option (for now), can also be seen on YouTube (inserting after the jump) in three different parts. The short was funded by the Absolut vodka, but apart from a title card, which really has nothing to do with or Absolut vodka.

I'm here is in a world where robots and humans coexist, although the former is only used for menial jobs and not much else. But that is slowly changing - are actually the evolution of robots - Jonze and has set his film in a time when some robots are beginning to find a purpose, a raison d'etre. They are also beginning to fall in love with others. Read more my opinion here, and seeing Spike Jonze fantastic short that I'm here after the jump.
