It's time for another visit to Austin for South by Southwest Film Festival - definitely not a lame festival, despite what some bloggers may think. We have 13 of our writers in Texas to cover the event (though not all exclusively for us), so we're sure to have a lot of rave reviews, interviews and everything that seems worthy of further information next nine days . Today was devoted mainly to travel and placed in a long line of "pic nic-ass" Projection of the opening night of Kick-Ass, but leaves again every night, because all the best of our coverage and others.
Sales: Strand Releasing has acquired North American rights Taqwacores, Eyad Zahra feature story about the Muslim punk scene. The film premiered at Sundance earlier this year, but also screens at SXSW. Version stage is set for the fall.
Our Coverage: Cinematical has a bit things started early last night, as Erik Childress shared his list of films to see play this week in Austin. He also interviewed The People vs. George Lucas Director Alexandre O. Philippe. His interviews today include Elektra Luxx director and director Sebastian Gutierrez Miranda Bailey green light. For comments, Todd Gilchrist has the first look at the film everyone is dying to see, Kick-Ass. Unfortunately, he writes, "like a movie, Kick-Ass is a comic book come to life too, but not much more ... [that] never quite found enough cohesion and clarity to become a fully satisfying comedy.
