Unlike many celebrity couples, the famous couple has kept his private life - in fact, according to a statement from their lawyers, who actually split several months ago.
Winslet and Mendes, met in 2001 and married two years later, while vacationing in the Caribbean. His son, Joe, was born in 2003, and Winslet has a daughter, Mia, from her previous marriage. "The separation is completely amicable and mutual agreement," said the statement from their lawyers. "Both sides are fully committed to joint parenting for the future of their children. They ask that the media respect the privacy of the family."
Mendes won an Oscar for American Beauty, and directed Winslet, opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in 2009 in Revolutionary Road. Has also signed on to direct the next film installment of the James Bond franchise. Winslet is set to star in Todd Haynes' remake of Mildred Pierce for HBO, as well as contagion Steven Soderbergh thriller, with Matt Damon.

Tonight's demonstration is a key test of the strength of the opposition after a disappointing turnout in last month's protests.
Some commentators, including the U.S. Security Council's former Middle East expert, Flynt Leverett, said the stake on 11 February showed that the opposition was losing strength.
The protest planned this evening is different from other events staged since the controversial elections last June. It is due to spend the night instead of day to coincide with Chaharshanbe Suri or the Feast of the celebrations of Fire.

La oposición iraní llevado a cabo más protestas en todo el país esta noche como parte de un festival de fuego tradicionalmente ruidosa en desafío de las autoridades. Lea cómo se ha desarrollado
